Last year was a busy one for construction within Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Chief building official Mike Newark gave his final 2012 report to council on Jan. 21.
Last year the township issued 215 permits – up 16 per cent from the 2011 total of 186 – for projects ranging from new residential, industrial, commercial and agriculture buildings, to pools, fences, decks and more.
The total value of construction for 2012 projects was almost $18.7 million – up 43% from just over $13 million in 2011.
The 2010 totals were 232 permits issued and just over $13.2 million in construction.
