Reeves Construction of Mount Forest was awarded the tender for replacement of the Bride Road culvert here.
At the June 15 meeting, council accepted the project tender from Reeves, the lowest of four submitted, for $368,154. Engineering and contingencies bring the contract cost to $405,154, not including HST.
However, CAO Bill White noted in a staff report road grading changes to the bridge approaches could impact the final pricing.
The town had budgeted $652,000 for the work and has received a grant of 69.7 per cent of project costs from the Ontario Community Reinvestment Fund.
“Depending on the final scope of work. The town’s share may be reduced from $197,556 to approximately 122,761,” noted White in his report.
