ERIN – Wellington County OPP is investigating a break-in at a home on 9th Line here sometime between 12:45 and 1:10am on March 15.
Police say someone smashed a bedroom window while the homeowners were away, “ransacked” the house and stole high-end watches and jewelry items.

Another break-in
ELORA – Wellington County OPP is investigating a break-in and theft at a home on David Street here sometime between March 16 and 19.
Police say someone entered the house through a front window while the homeowners were away and stole cash and jewelry.

Hit and run
GUELPH-ERAMOSA – Police are investigating after a hit run here last weekend.
Police say a blue Ford truck was hit by a late model, black GMC or Chevrolet truck on March 18 at about 10:45am on Wellington Road 124 in Guelph-Eramosa.
“There were no injuries as a result of the collision,” the OPP stated in a press release. “The suspect vehicle allegedly crossed the centre line and side-swiped the oncoming Ford truck, causing damage to the driver’s side of the Ford.
“The suspect vehicle continued on, travelling eastbound on County 124.”
Police say there may be damage to the driver’s side of the suspect truck as a result of the collision.

Attempted break-in
ROCKWOOD – Wellington County OPP received a report of an attempted break-in at the Rockwood library on Christie Street at about 2:15am on March 17, when alarms were activated.
Police say someone tried to enter through an east-facing door by drilling out the lock and prying it open.
“Entry and motion alarms appear to have prevented the theft of property and any further damages,” police stated in a press release.

Stolen vehicle
MAPLETON – On March 16 at about 10:30am, Wellington County OPP officers received a report about a vehicle stolen from a house on Sideroad 15 in Mapleton.
The vehicle is described as a white 2010 GMC Sierra bearing Ontario marker 2207FT. It was stolen sometime around midnight on March 16. The keys were left in the vehicle.

MINTO – On March 19 at about 8:20am, Wellington County OPP received a report about a vehicle stolen from a house on Highway 9, south of the village of Clifford.
The vehicle is described as a blue 2003 Pontiac Sunfire bearing Ontario marker BZHW770.
It was stolen sometime after 2am on March 19. The keys were in the vehicle.

Barn fire
MAPLETON – On March 14 at about 11:30am, emergency crews responded to a reported barn fire on Concession 16 west of Arthur.
Police say damages were considered limited and the cause was a malfunctioning piece of equipment. The fire is not considered suspicious.
Trailer stolen
GUELPH-ERAMOSA – On March 18 at approximately 8pm Wellington County OPP received a theft report from a farm house on Third Line, near Rockwood in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Sometime between 2 and 6pm on March 18 unknown suspects stole a black enclosed Miska Cargo Trailer with tandem axles.
The trailer had Ontario marker P6355D.
