Dancing season – Dancers from the Blue Bonnet Lassies School of Highland Dance competed at their first competition of the season on March 2. Dancers competing were, from left, back, Fiona Gillies, Ashley Elliott, Kori Stewart, Emma Horsley and Avaline Booth; front, Eila Gillies, Scarlette Jackson, Gabby Jackson and Ansley Stewart. In the Primary category Scarlette placed fifth in fling. In the Novice category, Ainsley placed seventh in Seann Truibhas; Eila placed second in fling and a sixth in lilt; Booth placed third in Seann Truibhas; and Fiona placed fourth in Seann Truibhas and lilt, fifth in sword and sixth in fling. In the intermediate category Elliot placed seventh in fling and Seann Truibhas, and third in hornpipe. In the premier category Horsley placed sixth in fling and Seann Truibhas, and fifth in hornpipe. Dancers will continue to compete throughout the spring and summer including the Scotdance Canada Canadian Championships competition in Moncton, New Brunswick and their hometown competition, the Fergus Scottish Festival.
