Blood donor clinic set for Feb. 2

In the spirit of celebrating families, Canadian Blood Services is asking locals to start a new Family Day tradition this February by donating blood.

“Family Day is an ideal opportunity for families to start a new tradition,” said Marg Gow, community development coordinator with Canadian Blood Services.

“Donating blood is something families can do collectively and is a unique and rewarding way to give back to the community.

“What better way to spend time together than helping to save lives?”

The blood donor clinic will be held at the Mount Forest and District recreation complex on Feb. 2 from 2 to 8pm.

According to Gow, three out of four Canadians say they think donating blood is a good idea, since it takes only an hour and is a direct way to help someone in need.

She encourages families to book an appointment to donate blood but stressed there is no appointment necessary.

First time blood donors between the ages of 17 to 61 are always welcome to make appointments to donate blood.
