Riders and their motorcycles made their way to the Alsfeldt United Church on July 4 to have their bikes blessed by Rev. Heather Leffler.
Other members and guests of Knox and Alsfeldt joined the outdoor celebration and shared their interest in motorcycles and bikers.
Some have never ridden on a bike while others have enjoyed the freedom of the open road for 40 years.
Rev. Leffler offered a blessing taken from Psalm 121: “God guards you when you leave and when you return, He guards you now, He guards you always.”
Following the blessing, everyone enjoyed a breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, bread, yogurt and fruit prepared by Deenie Matthews.
At the close of breakfast, the bikers bid farewell,
Ron and Deenie Matthews, Wilma Shannon, Jack Shannon, Elaine Shannon, Dave Shannon, Rodney Wilson, and Peggy Reistand Rick Lekx and their motorcycles were blessed that morning. The blessing was organized by the outreach committee.
