FERGUS – The Fergus Curling Club was the scene of a bike rodeo sponsored by Optimists International on May 25. Maisie Armstrong, Creo Hamilton and Levi Pike check their helmet positioning using the “two fingers between the helmet and eyebrow” technique.
A full house of young cyclists learned about helmet fitting, correct signalling and much more. Steady rain forced participants inside the rink for the practical session where they practiced their skills on a specially designed course. Jodi Murray of the Waterloo Wellington Brain Injury Association instructs the young cyclists about the importance of wearing a helmet correctly.
