Belwood’s first Water Cycle Bikes and Blues Festival a big success

This little tyke had a blast zooming around on his wooden balance bike.
The festival included an auction raising money for the Waterloo Wellington Children’s Groundwater Festival. Michael van Huisseling, Elissa Fedy, and Claire Fedy volunteered at the auction table.
During the Children’s Bike Parade young riders pedaled in circles in front of the stage, with onlookers cheering them on.
The Dunlops family also attended. Though they live in Fergus and Cambridge now, in the 70s they called Belwood home. From left, Janise, Sandra, Brent and Kevin.
The musical entertainment included fiddler Shane Cook and dancer, pianist and songwriter Emily Flack.
Children enjoyed dancing along to a lively jig. From left, Leona Long, Saoirse Kittle, Baraka Ochieng and Ketra Long.

BELWOOD – The first Water Cycle Bikes and Blues Festival in Belwood on Sept. 9 was a success, with over a hundred people participating in the bike rides and musical gathering at the historic Skol House. Some participants biked over 90km to make it to the afternoon festival. Photos by Robin George.
