To commemorate the centennial of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, a symposium will be held April 8 at Guelph Civic Museum.
Guest speakers include Dr. Mike Bechthold, David Webb, Robin Aggus, Ed Butts and Linda Granfield.
The Battle of Vimy Ridge was the first time during the Great War that all four Canadian divisions assembled to fight as one corps.
The Canadian objective during the battle was to take control of the German-held northern escarpment.
After four days of battle, the Canadian corps achieved their objective but suffered over 10,000 casualties.
Tickets are $20 plus HST and can be purchased at guelphmuseums.ca. Guelph Civic Museum is located at 52 Norfolk Street.
