The Barrel Boys are performing at the Eden Mills Community Hall on Jan. 23 at 7:30pm.
This concert launches the 2016 year of Eden Mills Music at the Hall.
This bluegrass group hails from Toronto. Featuring soaring vocal harmonies and barn-burning instrumentals, the Barrel Boys are a new staple in the Toronto bluegrass scene, organizers state.
Known for their versatility and eclecticism, their repertoire ranges from bluegrass to classic country, old-time, folk and roots rock.
Musicians Rob McLaren (banjo), Nathan Smith (fiddle), Ben Wright (guitar), Tim O’Reilly (bass) and Kyle Kirkpatrick (dobro) can rip it up with the best of them.
The Barrel Boys have produced two albums, Early On and most recently Gospel Hour, as well as EP (extended play) Carols from the Barrel. Their full-length album Early On introduces song writing of all five members, and demonstrates the uniqueness of their sound while staying rooted in tradition.
Proceeds from the concert will support the Eden Mills Community Hall. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students at the door and via PayPal at http://edenmills.ca/music.
