The Barrel Boys are coming back to Eden Mills.
The group will perform at Eden Mills Community Hall on Oct. 14 at 8pm.
This concert is a feature of the year-long 100th anniversary celebrations of the Eden Mills Community Hall and 175th anniversary of Eden Mills.
A five-piece string band, The Barrel Boys are a staple in the Toronto bluegrass scene. Known for their versatility and eclecticism, their instrumentation lends itself to classic bluegrass, but they are also fluent in old time, classic country, and Americana, and their original material is informed by all of these styles.
Musicians Rob McLaren (banjo), Nathan Smith (fiddle), Ben Wright (guitar), Tim O’Reilly (bass) and Kyle Kirkpatrick (dobro) can rip it up with the best of them, organizers say.
All five musicians crowd around a single vocal mic, making for a beautiful vocal blend, as well as an energetic and engaging experience.
The Barrel Boys’ October performance in Eden Mills follows a southern Ontario summer tour.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for student and can be purchased at the door or online at edenmills.ca/music through PayPal.
