Bachman & Turner to appear at Saugeen Summer Nights

After an amazing second year, Saugeen Summer Nights is heading back to where it all started – River Place Park, just outside of Ayton – with a new layout of the picturesque campground.

The two day music festival kicks off with its Friday evening of rock music on June 17.

Headlining this year’s performances are Bachman & Turner.

After many years of fan demand, Randy Bachman and Fred Turner are reunited – this reunion only took more than 20 years to happen.

They were the heart of legendary band Bachman-Turner Overdrive and they are touring again as the new, full-throttle rock machine: Bachman & Turner.

Their latest studio album is stocked with all original new tracks penned by the pair; in addition to “Rollin’ Along,” it includes songs which have a sound that seamlessly fits alongside Bachman-Turner Overdrive classics “Takin’ Care of Business” and “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet.”

Joining the festival for the third year in a row is Multi-Platinum selling artist Johnny Reid, who just recently finished his sold out cross-Canada tour, “A Place Called Love”.

Joining Reid is former Vancouver Canuck draft pick, Chad Brownlee. Since his exit from professional hockey, Chad has released his debut album which feature hit singles “The Best That I Can (Superhero)” and “Hood of my Car.” Chad is a star on the rise.

Until November, Minto councillors were working at having an encore performance of Saugeen Summer Nights in Clifford.

Minto passed a resolution to offer The Concert Factory the opportunity to host a music concert on those dates – “subject to the receipt of a deposit deemed sufficient by the treasurer of the Town of Minto by Nov. 30, 2010.”

News of the switched venue came less than a month after that deadline.
