ONTARIO – The Senate of Canada has made a series of recommendations around the future of Canada’s soils and their strategic importance to our country. 

PALMERSTON – Dulce Heaven Cookies and Scoops celebrated its opening on July 12 in Palmerston.

MINTO – Matthew Payne is the recipient of the Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society’s Donna Charters Memorial Bursary.

FERGUS – All students in Grades 4 through 8 at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Fergus worked diligently this spring, right to the last day of school, on a variety of cross-curricular projects in French and fine arts that focused on helping the planet.

MOUNT FOREST – Mount Forest Lions Club president Crystal Steffler presented the Family Health Team of Mount Forest with donations of $1,000 towards its community garden and $2,000 towards its mental health initiatives.

MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Lions Club made a donation of $10,000 to the Louise Marshall Hospital (LMH) Foundation on June 27, thanks to proceeds from their weekly Wednesday night Bingo.

PALMERSTON – Royal Terrace Long Term and Residential Care in Palmerston celebrated 35 years on June 26.

PALMERSTON – Tito’s Pizza celebrated its opening in Arthur on July 12.

PUSLINCH – Two nondenominational services and a September concert are scheduled this summer at historic Ellis Chapel. 

PALMERSTON – The Palmerston Marlins U11 Teal Team is a group of 13 girls from the Southwestern Ontario area that compete in the Grand Valley League and in the Provincial Women’s Softball Association (PWSA) programs for the 2023 to 2024 season.

MINTO – Road resurfacing of Wellington Road 109 between Wellington Road 123 (Teviotdale) and Wellington Road 5 (just south of Harriston) in the Town of Minto is set to begin on July 22.

FERGUS – Seniors month celebrations were held at Victoria Park Seniors Centre in Fergus on June 20.

MINTO – The 2024/25 contestants for the Harriston-Minto Ambassador program held on July 5 at the Harriston Community Complex Auditorium.
