Eco-friendly candlemaker featured on ‘Dragons’ Den’
FERGUS – “It’s all about community,” said Kristy Miller, founder of The Scented Market, who recently appeared on the season finale of CBC’s Dragon’s Den. The business sell candles and other home and body products, with stores in Fergus, Guelph, Paris and Niagara.
Erin athletes heading to top U.S. universities next year
ERIN – Erin District High School students Emma Warren and Lauren Bailey have accepted scholarships to Division I universities in the U.S. Warren will play soccer at the University of Vermont and Bailey will play lacrosse at Lindenwood University in Missouri.
Veterans offer laughter, lessons of peace at Our Lady of Lourdes event
GUELPH – Veterans shared stories, wisdom and laughter in the library at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School on Wednesday. The audience was around four dozen grade 10 civics students, who listened attentively to the veterans.
