PUSLINCH – An electrical fire has destroyed a trailer at McClintock’s Trailer Resort near Puslinch Lake. Brent Smith, chief fire prevention officer with Puslinch Fire and Rescue, said the call came in at 7:50 on June 21 for a structure fire at McClintock’s Trailer Resort.

ROCKWOOD – The Wellington Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) and County of Wellington held the grand opening for a child care centre and EarlyON Child and Family Centre at Sacred Heart Catholic School here on June 23.

GUELPH – A delegation of staff and students is calling on Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) officials to declare a climate state of emergency.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – An outdoor classroom has been dedicated in memory of a former Eramosa Public School teacher, Darlene Shaw, who school officials referred to as the “fairy godmother” of the school.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – School board officials say "targeted hate crimes" like the recent vandalism of Pride flags at local schools can negatively affect learning and make some students feel unwelcome and unsafe.

FERGUS – Elementary students from the Upper Grand District School Board participated in a Pride event at John Black Public School in Fergus on June 16. Public schools in attendance included Elora, Eramosa, John Black, JD Hogarth, Ponsonby and Victoria Terrace.

GUELPH – Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) students in the Beyond Borders class have raised roughly $44,000 for local organizations. This year’s three-day event, titled Envision, marked the tenth year of Beyond Borders supporting the local and global community.

FERGUS – Students at Centre Wellington District High School put their skills to the test and took home several medals from the Skills Ontario Competition, with one team also taking home gold at the national level.

FERGUS – The former Fergus Thistles Senior 'B' team is being recognized by the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame for winning three consecutive Canadian Championships in the 80s. 

ROCKWOOD – The market, which kicked-off on June 8, will run every Wednesday from 4 to 7pm until Oct. 5 at Rockmosa Park.

ELORA – Elora Community Theatre (ECT) is celebrating 50 continuous years of creating theatre this fall. 

MOUNT FOREST – Wellington Heights Secondary School student Victoria Herrington has won the silver medal at the OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) Girls Singles Open Tennis Championship.
