DRAYTON – During December Edge Mutual Insurance Company staff donated food, toys and support to various initiatives. 

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Mapleton Township’s first mayor, Carl Hall, died on Dec. 31 at age 87.

HARRISTON – On Feb. 22 communities across Canada will participate in the “Coldest Night of the Year” (CNOY) to raise funds for local charities. 

MOUNT FOREST – Three local residents participated in the global “Movember” movement to raise $1,000 for Mount Forest Cancer Patient Services. 

WATERLOO – Palmerston native Leah Herrfort will join Canada’s women’s hockey team for a second time at the FISU Winter World University Games for a chance to win another gold medal. 

MINTO – A draft plan for a proposed industrial subdivision in Teviotdale was presented to council during a Dec. 17 public meeting. 

WELLINGTON COUNTY  – The winter season is here,  which means summer sports have been put on pause – or maybe they haven’t. 

MINTO – Two Town of Minto projects have been recognized as finalists in the annual Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) Awards of Excellence program – marking Minto’s third year as a finalist. 

MINTO – During its last meeting of the year on Dec. 17, Minto council unanimously approved the town’s 2025 budget.
