The Arts Council here is seeking the services of a Guelph artist to prepare a series of line drawings of selected historical buildings and features to illustrate a guide booklet for the council’s new Ward One Guelph historical walking tour.
Artists are being asked to apply in writing with a resume and two to five representative line drawing samples of their work. The deadline for submissions is March 31.
Introduced in the spring of 2009, the Ward One Guelph tour covers the area southeast of the city’s downtown between the Speed and Eramosa Rivers. It incorporates historic architecture dating from the time of the Sir John A. Macdonald survey of 1855, and portrays the story of early industrialization and the arrival of immigrants early in the 20th century.
