An Arthur walking group might be “up and running” in the near future – so to speak.
Wellington North recreation committee minutes recently noted a letter addressed to Mayor Mike Broomhead from Helen Edwards, regarding a request for an "in kind" donation of space at the community centre in Arthur for an indoor walking group.
Recreation Co-ordinator Linda Spahr reported that the council allows that in Minto.
As a result, Spahr is to find out what hours people run in Minto, then offer the information to Edwards for the Arthur group, once floor renovations are completed.
There was also consideration to see a walking track installed around the ice surface in Arthur and the municipality might be able to obtain a grant for that work.
