The Arthur Twisters atom girls softball team had a great start to its season June 2.
The team played four games in eight hours to capture the title at Brampton’s Ontario Select Softball tournament.
In taking the tournament title, the team defeated Brampton 20-6, Whitby 15-11, Oakville 11-10 and Whitby 13-2 in the championship game.
Over the course of the tournament, five girls pitched, four caught and everyone played on the infield. Everyone averaged at least one run scored per game.
“The team is off to a great start to the 2018 season, winning its first two regular season games,” officials state.
The bench coaches include Jeff McKee, Scott Hutchison, Stephanie Rooney and Ronda Smith along with several parent volunteers.
