Arthur Opti-Mrs. playground officially opens

Grand opening – An official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the Opti-Mrs playground in Arthur on June 25. Accompanied by five children who attended the opening, from left, are: Arthur Opti-Mrs Club president Shawna Lougheed, Amanda Roelofsen, Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox, Crystal VanGerven, Wendy Vroenhoven and councillor Dan Yake.

The event included a free family and public swim, followed by free ice cream sponsored by the Arthur Opti-Mrs Club. Bubbles were also available for the taking.

The park initially reopened to the public in June of 2021 after undergoing $120,000 worth of upgrades. The Arthur Pool and Arthur Arena have also recently received upgrades. Parker Holliday fires away at the splash pad.

Playground opened – The Arthur Opti-Mrs playground was officially opened on June 25. The playground was identified as requiring upgrades as part of Wellington North’s 2020 recreation capital program and the recreation master plan.
