ARTHUR – The Arthur Agricultural Society has become the latest to embrace the virtual fair concept in place of a traditional fair cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re not judging entries this year, instead we’re embracing a show and tell through virtual participation,” fair organizers state.
Participants are invited to submit photos of their creations in various categories to receive a special Arthur Fall Fair ribbon, awarded to all participants. In addition, a prize will be awarded to each category’s Fan Choice.
Information on categories and submissions can be found on the fair website.
Several special events are planned for Sept. 12, including a take-out roast beef dinner served from 5 to 7pm at the Arthur Community Centre. Dinners are $17. Email arthurfallfair@gmail.com or call or text Jenny Bodz at 519-362-0597 to order.
Local residents are invited to display their favorite quilt over a railing or bench to be viewed from the street for a Quilt Crawl. A colouring contest, pony show and a virtual scavenger hunt is also part of the fair fun.
