Art in the Church: The Nature of Erin

A themed, premier art show presented by the newly formed Erin Artists’ Alliance showcases the work of a select group of local and regional artists interpreting what they love about the Town of Erin and environs.

Big rolling hills, dog walks on the Elora/Cataract trailway, wide skies, good food from Everdale Farm, sunsets and grand fields are just some of the Nature of Erin subjects interpreted by 10 local and regional artists in a variety of mediums.

The newly formed Erin Artists’ Alliance is proud to showcase the work of the following local and regional artists: Jackie Clark, Audrey Devonshire, Annette Dyon, Rosemary Hasner, Diana Hillman, Sally Mappin, Susan Powell, Monica Schut, Lucille Weber, and Barry Young.

In conjunction with the Art Show, the Belfountain Heritage Society will be hosting the Annual Tea Party.

Enjoy a cup of tea at the tea party (tickets required) and feast your eyes on a spectacular selection of art works adorning the walls of this historic site.

“It’s such a great theme because many artists are inspired each day by our surroundings, so painting a picture that captures what you love about the Town of Erin and sharing it with all in a show like this, is truly wonderful,” says Susan Powell

“The Nature of Erin” art show is open Saturday and Sundays from 11-5pm on the following weekends: Sept. 21 and 22, Sept. 28 and 29 and Oct. 5 and 6 and Thanksgiving weekend, Oct. 12 and 13 at the Melville White Church located at 15962 Mississauga Road in Belfountain.

The Nature of Erin art show is dedicated to the memory of fellow artist, Irene Shelton. Shelton was a brilliant painter with a big heart, beautiful spirit, and a loving personality who dearly cherished and loved the outdoors and most certainly her community and the nature of the Town of Erin.
