In a recent letter to Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott, Premier Dalton McGuinty failed to confirm his earlier remarks that hospital expansion might be included in a 10-year construction plan.
“Once again, the McGuinty Liberals have missed an opportunity to offer any clear plan to build the new hospitals we need,” said Arnott. “They are dragging their feet, and it’s very disappointing.”
Making the case for a new Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Arnott responded to the premier’s letter with yet another of his own.
“With very strong community support, we in Centre Wellington have been working since 2001 on this proposal for a new Groves Memorial,” wrote Arnott. “Our community has waited long enough, and we deserve to know the specifics of your plan.”
In a previous letter sent to the premier a month ago, Arnott noted the community’s long wait must be considered in any new construction plan – something he said should put Groves at or near the top of the list.
“We need the McGuinty government to start building this new hospital, which we deserve and will soon need,” said Arnott.
“We can’t allow them to continue delaying the future of health care in our area.”
