Arnott brings ambulance concerns to legislature

Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott highlighted the need for improved ambulance service in Erin on Tuesday.  He called for leadership from the Minister of Health Deb Matthews.

He said Erin councillors  are seeking a meeting with the Minister. “This is a reasonable request the minister cannot brush off. The issue is simple, even if the solution is somewhat more complex: slow ambulance response times when residents of Erin call in.”

Arnott cited a woman a few weeks ago waiting 70 minutes for an ambulance and how victims needing an ambulance being advised to overstate their needs.

“How could this be allowed to happen? Imagine if this happened in the city,” he said.“It should also be unacceptable to the council of the city of Guelph, who has been the ambulance provider.”

Erin council planned to be at a Toronto conference next week, and Matthews should broker a solution to service improve times in East Wellington.
