Kasian Architecture Firm has been awarded a contract to manage the design of the new Groves Hospital project.
After a detailed review process, Groves Memorial Community Hospital (GMCH) chose Kasian Architecture over nine other firms.
“Over the past 25 years Kasian has earned global recognition for their collaborative approach to design. They bring a wealth of rural building experience, commitment to sustainability and dedication to inspired thinking,” said Paul Smith, GMCH board chairman.
Kasian projects include facilities for acute care hospitals, complex care and rehabilitation facilities.
“We are excited to continue to move forward with our plans to build an integrated health centre,” said Jerome Quenneville, GMCH president and CEO.
“The timing is perfect as Groves Hospital recently received approval from the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integrated Network endorsing the program and services elements outlined in the revised Stage 1 Part A Submission for the new hospital.
“This approval helps keep us on track for beginning the tendering process in 2014/15 as announced by the province last August.”
Patsy Poulin, Kasian’s principal, stated, “Kasian is proud to be selected to be a part of the conceptual design and project delivery team for the new Campus of Care for Wellington County.”
Smith added, “The Groves Hospital Board is very proud of all of the work that has been done by staff, practitioners, partners and our administration to accomplish the gains to date in developing an integrated health care service model.”
