Arboretum auxiliary plant sale

The University of Guelph Arboretum auxiliary plant sale returns once again  with a huge variety of trees, shrubs and perennials.

The sale will be held Sept. 13 from 9am to 2pm at the R. J. Hilton Centre on 384 College Ave. E. in Guelph.

The plant sale will run rain or shine and admission is free.

This year, a large selection of unique plants are available, including rare natives such as cucumber tree, pawpaw, leatherwood and Hill’s oak, as well as some outstanding exotics like Yellowwood, ginkgo, American beauty berry and Bottlebrush buckeye.

As always, there will also be a diverse selection of native wildflowers, ferns, grasses, sedges and high-quality ornamental perennials. With an array of rare plants and great prices, this is a very popular sale, so be sure to arrive early for the best selection.

Check the Arboretum’s  website or call 519-824-4120 ext. 52358 as the plant sale date approaches for information on what will be available.

Plants are grown and cared for by Arboretum Auxiliary members in the Arboretum’s nursery and greenhouse.

All sale proceeds aid the ongoing maintenance and development of the Arboretum; a 408-acre living museum of plant collections, gardens, forests, conservation and research projects and public outreach programs tucked amidst the University of Guelph campus.
