ELORA – Riverfest Elora and Team Addy will host A Concert with Addy-tude, a special fundraising event to honour the life and spirit of Addison (Addy) Hill.
Set to take place on Oct. 5 at the newly built MacDonald Pavilion at the Elora Centre for the Arts, the concert promises an unforgettable evening of music, community and heartfelt remembrance, organizers say.
Hill’s journey was marked by her infectious positivity, sense of humor, resilience, and boundless heart, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Although Hill tragically lost her battle with angiosarcoma on July 10, 2022, her legacy lives on through the dedication of Team Addy, a community committed to turning grief into a powerful force for good.
All proceeds from the concert will go directly to support Dr. David Malkin’s sarcoma research at SickKids Hospital, continuing Hill’s fight against the devastating disease that’s often referred to as the forgotten cancer.
The concert runs from 3 to 11pm on Oct. 5 at the MacDonald Pavilion on the grounds of the Elora Centre for the Arts.
The event is a licensed, all-ages event featuring:
- The Strumbellas;
- Jeremie Albino;
- Rêve;
- Kelly McMichael; and
- Amanda Braam.
Guests can expect a night filled with powerful and passionate performances, along with great food, drinks, and fun—all in support of an incredible cause, organizers say.
“Addy’s spirit continues to inspire us every day,” said Curt McQueen, event organizer and Hill’s former principal at Elora Public School.
“Through this concert, we aim to celebrate Addy’s life and bring our community together to support the vital research that will help others facing the same battle,” added Andy Speers, a teacher at Elora Public School who is also helping organize the event.
This event marks the second year for this collaboration between Riverfest Elora and Team Addy, two organizations deeply rooted in the community and united by a shared mission to make a difference, officials say.
Tickets for A Concert with Addy-tude are available now and can be purchased at Ticketscene.ca.
The first 200 tickets sell for $65 each, then the price rises to $75. The concert is free for children 12 and under.
