WATERLOO — The Waterloo Wellington Down Syndrome Society (WWDSS) will hold its 21st annual fundraising event on Sept. 24 in Waterloo Park.
The event will begin at 1pm with opening remarks at 2pm followed by a 2km walk and roll and entertainment.
WWDSS wants to show that people of all abilities, including people with Down syndrome, are valued in the community.
One hundred per cent of the funds raised will support essential services and programs for people with Down syndrome and their families.
WWDSS does not receive government funding as it is funded by the community.
The name “Any Which Way You Can A-Thon” is inclusive of the various ways people may participate.
Down syndrome affects the mobility, often requiring physiotherapy to develop strength, balance and stamina to learn to walk.

WWDSS supports and informs individuals, families and the community on issues related to Down syndrome.
It advocates for people with Down syndrome to lead healthy, active lives, enabling them to contribute their gifts to the community.
