Anti-racism summit April 29 to May 2

GUELPH – The Guelph Black Heritage Society is hosting its inaugural #ChangeStartsNow Anti-Racism Summit from April 29 to May 2, 2021.

This multi-day virtual summit will bring together speakers to address racism with the goal to engage and educate the community, as well as empower them to take action to dismantle racism and all its forms in our community and beyond.

The #ChangeStartsNow Education Initiative is an anti-racism project and is aimed at responding to and preventing racism in Guelph and Wellington County.

This has been achieved by developing community resources and capacity to educate the community about racism, local Black history, and methods that members of the public can enact themselves to prevent racism and hate crimes.

The summit is presented with support from Ontario’s Safer and Vital Communities Fund, CIBC, Merged Media and in collaboration with the City of Guelph, and the University of Guelph’s  Cultural Diversity Office.

The summit will be held virtually and will feature a series of free and ticketed events.

Passes are available now.

Each pass is offered on a sliding scale from $35 to $65 ($495 value) and will give access to 10 exclusive events for the duration of the Anti-Racism Summit.

Passes can be purchased at https://www.showpass.com/changestartsnow-anti-racism-summit/.

The event begins with a free Black Community Town Hall on April 29 at 6pm.
