Annual senior summer games

Stay active this season and participate in the Summer Games.

The games, which were first held in Kitchener in 1986, give senior citizens the chance to compete in a wide range of Sports and activities.

This year, Guelph is hosting the 55+ event for District 26, which is made up of the communities of Guelph, Cambridge, Waterloo, Kitchener, Woolwich, Centre Wellington and Wilmont.

The Sports will include: swimming, tennis, shuffleboard, pickle ball, bocce, badminton and golf.

The games will take place from June 2 to 13. The opening ceremony will be held on May 31, from 11am to 12pm at Guelph City Hall, 1 Carden St.

 Registration forms and directory pamphlets can be found at www.ontarioseniorgames.ca/26. These can also be picked up at the Evergreen Centre in Guelph, as well as many Sports stores and recreation or social clubs.

Also on May 30, the five-kilometre Cycle Prediction Run will be taking place at Guelph City Hall as a separate event. The race will begin at 7pm.
