The Garden Party offers a chance to learn more about Focus on Nature’s innovative school program that connects kids to nature through photography.
Their school workshops and camps have grown rapidly in southern Ontario and are now offered in Hamilton and the Niagara Region, the Waterloo and Halton Regions, Dufferin and Peel Regions, London and Oxford County, and Guelph and Wellington County.
Over 43,000 children have participated since social worker Shirley Hunt and photographer Trina Koster founded the organization in 2008.
Focus on Nature is a registered charity that inspires young people to explore and connect with their local environment through nature photography.
At school workshops and day camps as well as through photography exhibits, they give children of all abilities and backgrounds a renewed awareness of their own creative potential while exploring the natural world around them, officials say.
