GUELPH – Fresh off his Italian tour, singer-songwriter, poet and author Andy White makes his return to Guelph to launch Good Luck I Hope You Make It on March 31 at Artbar, Guelph.
This will be one of only two Ontario dates. White has performed in Guelph a number of times, both solo and with Stephen Fearing as folk duo Fearing & White. He has also performed at Hillside and Mariposa festivals.
Along with his latest material, he will perform some of his career highlights such as Religious Persuasion, James Joyce’s Grave and Street Scenes from my Heart.
White’s first EP religious persuasion and 1986 debut album Rave on Andy White kick-started a career that includes 20 albums, two books of poetry and a novel.
He has worked with Peter Gabriel, Sinead O’Connor, Tim Finn (Split Enz) and Liam O Maonlai (Hothouse Flowers) to name a few and won some of Ireland’s top music awards.
White has lived in Belfast, Dublin, Switzerland and currently resides in Melbourne.
Opening the evening will be He Mistook Her For A Swan, a Toronto-based folk duo with Colleen Hodgson and Steve Koch that performs sad songs of love and loss, officials say.
Doors open at 6pm with the show starting at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased online at eventbrite.ca/e/andy-white-with-he-mistook-her-for-a-swan-tickets-1253839390369.
