The local men’s Barbershop Chorus – the Royal City Ambassadors – is looking for new members and invites men of all ages from Guelph and the surrounding communities to give barbershop singing a try.
For 40 years, the Ambassadors have been entertaining audiences throughout the community. Singing in a cappella four-part harmony, the chorus sings a wide range of music, from old standards and Christmas music to songs by The Beatles and The Beach Boys.
In celebration of their 40th year, the Ambassadors are looking to expand the chorus.
“It would be great if we had 40 new members for our 40th year” said Ron Brown, president of the Ambassadors. He noted musical experience is an asset but not required. “Very few of us had musical experience; you just need to enjoy singing and having a good time.”
The Ambassadors practice every Tuesday evening and invite anyone to come out. Anyone interested in knowing more can call Ron Brown at 519-823-0779 or Ross Kirkconnell, at 519-836-0577.
