When it comes to the Jack R. Macdonald Trust, it seems there are more hands out than money to be distributed.
On Feb. 26, councillor Don Fisher reported Centre Wellington’s community services advisory committee is busy sorting applications from community groups and others seeking funds from the trust fund.
Fisher said there are 22 applications to review.
The community-based projects must occur within the geographical area of Elora but can benefit all of Centre Wellington.
Fisher said the total amount of funding sought is almost $7 million.
The amount of funding available is just over $1.5 million.
He anticipated numerous meetings as the review gets underway in March.
“We have our work cut out for us,” Fisher said.
