ALMA – The 2022 Alma Optimist Toy Show and Sale is set for March 13.
The event, which has been cancelled the past two years due to COVID-19 restrictions, will be at the Alma Community Hall, located at 51 Simpson Street, Alma, from 10am to 3pm.
Hundreds of tiny tractors and other farm toys will be on display at the event.
Local Girl Guides will be operating a food booth at the show and proceeds from the show will help fund Optimist projects.
Optimist member Nick Grose says the show will be the first community event hosted at the Alma Community Centre since 2020 and he expects crowds to rival those of the best attended shows of the past, which attracted between 400 and 600 people.
“Everybody’s itching to get out and do something.”
Grose said the show will feature a good mixture of young exhibitors with newer toys and veteran collectors with unique items.
“There’s even a guy coming who makes handmade trucks,” he noted.
“There will be quite a variety of things to see this year.”
