Acton rail service to Toronto starts Jan. 7

Residents in Wellington County, particularly its southeastern portion, will now have another way to get to Toronto.

GO Train service from the city to Acton will start on Jan. 7, making it easier for commuters to travel to and from Toronto.

“This is great News for residents in Acton and the surrounding area,” Guelph MPP Liz Sandals said in a press release.

“GO Train service will provide commuters with more travel options and make it easier for them to get to work, school or appointments.”

There will be two morning trains to Toronto and two return trains in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. The trains will:

– depart from Acton GO Station at 6:28am and arrive at Union Station at 7:53am;

– depart from Acton GO Station at 7:46am and arrive at Union Station at 9:08am;

– depart from Union Station at 4:45pm and arrive at Acton at 6:03pm; and

– depart from Union Station at 5:45pm and arrive at Acton at 7:03pm.

 Trains along the line also stop at the Kitchener, Guelph, Georgetown, Mount Pleasant, Brampton, Bramalea, Malton, Etobicoke North, Weston and Bloor GO Stations.

“Our improvements to GO Transit support our commitment to bring two-way, all-day GO train service to commuters in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area,” Bob Chiarelli, Minister of Transportation, said in a press release.
