PUSLINCH – The Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market opens for its 12th season on May 28, and will be running every Saturday from 8am to 1pm through to Oct. 29 in the Optimist Recreation Centre on the Puslinch Community Centre grounds.
With over 45 farm, food and craft vendors in attendance for opening day, officials say visitors can look forward to an exceptional selection of seasonal produce, farm-fresh meats and eggs, locally made honey and maple syrup, fresh baking, handmade goods, and new this year, craft beer.
Food and beverage options will be available for purchase on-site and include coffee, tea, breakfast sandwiches and everybody’s hometown favourite, apple fritters.
The Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market is a community-run seasonal market located in the heart of Puslinch that prides itself on hosting vendors from just mere kilometres away. Available produce is based on the Ontario growing season and visitors will find each vendor’s “distance away” noted on a sign at their booth.
Every farmer, crafter, baker or chef that applies to the market is vetted by an experienced team of volunteers to ensure all products brought to the market are grown, made, or prepared by the vendor, officials say.
Each week, visitors can choose from an excellent selection of farm fresh produce, meats, arts and crafts, freshly baked goods and new this year, craft beer.
The fully accessible and spacious outdoor pavilion makes for a comfortable shopping experience with wide aisles and communal seating areas, officials say.
There is free parking and an ATM on-site.
