The local community appreciates its local farmers’ market … and now it seems the world is taking note as well.
A recent email from Puslinch Township councillor Matthew Bulmer thanked the Wellington Advertiser for its “support and coverage of the activities at our little market over the last few years.”
Bulmer said “It has really helped us get the word out and become the community hub that we set out to create.”
He stated on Oct. 3, the market was “honoured to have our community’s efforts recognized by Real Style magazine.”
Under the title Best Farmers’ Markets in Canada, the market is described as as follows: “The Aberfoyle Farmer’s Market, located just outside Guelph, Ontario, takes place every Saturday. The market offers typical goods such as meats, cheese, and fruits, but also sells niche items like homemade soap and direct trade coffee, among others. The cheerful atmosphere of this festival is enhanced by live music every week. The Aberfoyle Farmer’s Market runs until Oct. 29.”

“As the market approaches the end of it’s sixth season this recognition certainly gives our volunteers a bit of extra wind in their sails.”
Bulmer added “This also gives our family of friendly vendors and buskers some well deserved recognition since they are the ones that actually create the welcoming atmosphere each week.”
Other markets in the article included: Penticton’s Farmer’s Market (Penticton, British Columbia); Marché du Vieux-Port (Quebec City, Quebec); and the Halifax Seaport Farmer’s Market (Halifax, Nova Scotia).
