Dear Editor:
On behalf of the group Families Needing Support, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the community of Wellington County.
The support we’ve received from so many letters sent to MPPs, Community Living Guelph Wellington (CLGW) and the Wellington Advertiser have restored my faith in humanity. Letters which were written to defend the right of those less able in our society show real compassion from so many local neighbours and friends.
The decision to close day programs was based on a person-centred approach. The community of Wellington demonstrates a much broader approach which helps the person supported as well as their family and the entire community.
Our group, Families Needing Support, continues to work to toward these goals and fully restore CLGW adult day programs.
