DREW – The Dec. 7 Light Up Drew event was declared a “huge success,” by organizers, bringing in a full truck load of food, as well as over $900 in monetary donations for the local food bank.
“The generosity of the Drew community was heart warming and I am sure the Christmas spirit was felt by everyone,” said Drew Community Association president Nicole Hymers.
Nearly 50 cars passed through the display Saturday night and numerous donations were dropped off prior to the event by those who couldn’t make it.
“A big thank you goes out to my crew of volunteers for their endless dedication and hard work! Saturday night was a great show of what Christmas Spirit really means,” said Hymers.
