Remembering the fallen – Guelph-Eramosa Mayor Chris White told the small crowd at the Rockwood Remembrance Day service about the Vimy Oak sapling planted at the back of the Rockwood cenotaph. Vimy Oaks, brought back as acorns from Vimy Ridge to grow in Canada, have been planted across the country to commemorate the Battle of Vimy Ridge and to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The Rockwood tree was donated to the township by Bill Adsett, former Eramosa Township mayor, county warden and Advertiser publisher.
