After a lengthy illness, Harold passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Friday October 23, 2020. Beloved husband of Glenise Hurd for 62 years. Harold will be dearly missed by his children Stewart (Kathy), Andrew (Carla), Patrick (Barb), his grandchildren Jasmine, Darren, Jordan, Hunter, Nathan and great grandchildren Benjamin and Chloe. Remembered by his surviving siblings June, Doreen, Marie, Marlene and Linda, as well as many nieces and nephews. Harold was a long term member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Fergus Branch. Harold was born and raised in Fergus and he was an active member of the community, carrying on a business from his father, Ladd Construction, for many years. Interment will take place at Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus and luncheon to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion on Thursday October 29, 2020. Due to COVID restrictions, this will be by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus or the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Graham Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel 280 St. David St. S. Fergus.
