MAPLETON – Starting Oct. 26, Mapleton Township’s municipal office will be open by appointment only.
Municipal officials made the announcement in a press release on Oct. 23.
“As more information on the COVID-19 pandemic comes to light in our area, the Township of Mapleton wants to ensure every precaution is taken to protect all staff and public,” states the release.
Officials ask that residents wishing to speak with township staff call first to set up an appointment.
The municipality will continue to receive documents and payments through the drop box at the municipal office.
Residents are encouraged to make payments for tax and water/sewer bills through online banking, by mail or the drop box.
“We are aware these decisions may be an inconvenience for some, however the health and safety of the residents of the Township of Mapleton and our staff are our top priorities and we believe these measures are necessary at this time,” states the release.
