MINTO – The Town of Minto is reducing the number of staff in its municipal office and requiring residents to make an appointment if they want to visit.
The town has decided to “modify the operations of our municipal office” in response to recent changes in provincial COVID-19 protocols, states an Oct. 5 press release.
In the past few weeks, the province has reduced indoor gathering limits and required that masks be worn in all indoor settings, among other restrictions.
“The Town of Minto continues to keep public safety as top priority during the unique circumstances surrounding COVID-19,” states the town press release.
The municipal office will remain open “to receive documents from the public, and assist them in any way we can,” officials stated.
But as of Oct. 6, all in-person meetings with town staff will require pre-arranged appointments (call 519-338-2511).
Officials say there may be fewer staff members in the office, but the town “will continue to ensure continuity of services as we have throughout the pandemic.”
The town is reminding residents to wear a mask and wash their hands regularly.
