FERGUS – Work is continuing this week on the Wilson Dam between Confederation Park and the Groves Mill condos in Fergus.
A 350-tonne crane attracted a lot of attention on July 22, when it began drilling to install 12 rock anchors, 10 feet apart, which will help the keep the dam secure from further movement.
While they understand local residents may want to watch the work, officials are asking them to keep a distance so as to not interfere with the project.
Workers recently installed a floating deck to cross the dam safely.
This phase of the project is expected to continue for approximately two weeks.
The private dam is the property of Fergus Mill Power Company Ltd., which is owned by Murray Koebel.
