MARSTON, Anne Penelope (Nee Brassey)

passed away peacefully surrounded by family January 22, 2020 at Groves Memorial Hospital Fergus in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of David J. Marston of Elora, the only daughter of the late Frank and Mary Brassey of Saughall Massey, England. She arrived in Canada and met her loving husband of 52 years in 1966. Upon coming to Canada Anne worked as a radiologist in Guelph and Fergus and subsequently with her husband at the Elora Express before joining the Little Folks Furniture Factory in Elora. She then worked for Cana-Vac until her retirement. She is survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Marston of Gaspereau, Nova Scotia and is fondly remembered by seven nieces and nephews: Elizabeth (Libby), John and Tom Carlaw and Ben, Julie and Vickie Marston and Pam Marston-Berk. Anne loved to read and do crossword puzzles, travel and participate in recreational activities, including lawn bowling. She volunteered in the community when her health permitted, including teaching seniors to use computers at the Fergus Seniors Centre. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Elora Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in the Maple Leaf room Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 1:30 to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital Foundation. A family internment will be held later in April at the Elora cemetery.
