Born in Guelph, passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Thursday, December 26, 2019, in his 90th year. Loving husband of Mabel (Thomas), father of Tom Parker (Barb), Marie Cosulich (Jim), Joyce Parker. Grandfather of Sarah Player (Rick), Matt Cosulich, Becky Parker (Hunter Kangas), Victoria Mena (Fed), and Adam Parker (Lydia). Great grandfather of Cadence, Soraya, Kinsley, Gabriella, Mikayla and Laurel. Brother of George Parker (Elenor), the late Amelda Piotto (Steve), the late Darlene Schram. Denis Ridgeway (Patti) and Judy Lefneski (Scott). He won the Collyer Trophy in 1941 for the mile footrace in Guelph and the last leg of the race was up the hill to the Church of our Lady. In 1944 he won the Victory Garden Trophy in Guelph. On June 9th, 2019 he celebrated 65 years of marriage to Mabel. He was a member of the Guelph Naval Veterans Association since 1959. He was the treasurer of the association. He had many memorable times with this organization. He loved card games and was a champion Cribbage player. A long time farmer in Nassagaweya, he loved the land. He travelled throughout Canada and abroad. In his later years he spent time sitting on the front porch looking across the fields and watching the sunsets. Friends were received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Sunday, December 29 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00pm and on Monday, December 30 from 10:30 to 11:00am. Funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel on Monday December 30 at 11:00am. Lunch to follow.
