Small-town help

Dear Editor:

On Nov. 6,  I was involved in a car accident in Fergus. This accident was not my fault and it was the first time that this had happened to me.  In seconds my life changed.

It is often said that positive things happen from a traumatic experience. I have to agree. The people in Fergus who responded to help at the crash scene were kind and helpful. From the woman who immediately ran out of her house when she heard the bang, to summon help, to the retired paramedic Nicole, who stopped and offered assistance, I will always be grateful.

Another fellow offered his name as a witness at the scene. The police officers and staff in the emergency department at Groves hospital have to be recognized for doing their jobs with kindness as they assisted me.

Living in a small town has many advantages and it is the people and services here that make me proud to call Fergus my home. Thank you.

Beverley Jane Jaremey,
Fergus
