Man brandished knife during alleged road rage incident

GUELPH-ERAMOSA – Police are just now releasing the details about a driver who brandished a knife during an alleged road rage incident here two months ago.

On Sept. 11 at about 7am, Wellington County OPP were called about an incident on Wellington Road 29 near Wellington Road 22 in Guelph-Eramosa.

Police say the male driver of a white coupe was tailgating and passing vehicles aggressively.

“It was also reported that the driver at one point blocked a live lane of traffic and exited the vehicle brandish(ing) a hunting knife,” police stated in a Nov. 20 press release.

Police stopped and arrested driver near the village of Eden Mills and seized the knife.

Derek Stuart Pilling, 22, of Mono Township, was charged with dangerous driving, stunt driving and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was to appear in Guelph court on Oct. 18.
