Cheque presentation – The educational initiative Jobs Opportunities Enterprise (JOE), which helps young adults living with developmental challenges learn job skills, received a $4,000 donation from the Retired Teachers of Ontario (RTO). JOE has a partnership with the Planet Bean Coffee chain in Guelph through which young adults with developmental challenges work as baristas with help from supervising JOE volunteers. The $4,000 will go towards providing coffee machines and other equipment needed for a new Planet Bean Coffee opening in Westminister Woods Medical Centre. The presentation was made during an RTO lunch meeting on Oct. 24 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus.
